Distributed Small Cells

  • Primarily single-operator solutions supporting one or two frequencies band per small cell
  • Supports 3G (UMTS) or 4G (LTE) technology and WIFI
  • Available in licensed operator cellular bands like 2100 / 1700MHz
  • Can operate in unlicensed WIFI spectrum to provide capacity boost as a downlink offload
  • Well-suited for enterprise applications where single operator deployments are the norm and where combined LAN plus cellular communications on the same cable infrastructure is highly valued
  • Power for each small cell is typically delivered over the LAN cable through a POE + driver
  • Simple to deploy: adopts SON (Self-Organizing Network) capability to enable each small cell to be automatically detected and provisioned once connected to the network
  • Passive intermodulation is virtually eliminated. No RF cabling, limited frequency combinations (single operator) and the very low transmit power levels (<250 mW) present at each small cell radio
  • Connects directly to the operator’s core network or through a security gateway or to a hosted private network core using a luh and S1/X2 interfaces
  • Can be offered as a private network with enterprise self-management

Crest: Intelligent Operating System for RTUs

Crest provides a powerful and easy-to-use web-based administration for basic RTU setup, control and monitoring. Delivering a highly-flexible development environment, TASC Systems and approved partners, are able to quickly develop modules for application-specific deployments. Crest application modules are either ‘custom’ code developed specifically for applications or downloadable extensions, examples include: Kenwood NEXEDGE Repeater control and Azure IoT data aggregration – enables Summit and Peak to send data directly to Azure for storage and analysis.
